I was quite fortunate to spend Christmas 1980 and the New Year of 1981 in Lisbon, Portugal. The people were very friendly and the scenery was every photographer's wish-come-true. I stayed at a small hotel where few lodgers or staff spoke English but the ambiance could not have been greater. I was fascinated by the women who scrubbed the sidewalk daily, on their knees, at the front entrance. The New Year's Eve party at the hotel was a gala affair that I will never forget and the food was terrific.
I have only included a small portion of my Portugal pictures with this blog but I will exhibit more in a future post. I have not posted a blog in a number of weeks as my wife had been ill and hospitalized but is slowly getting well.
