Chicago -- A City Made For Photographers

Actually I had intended to exhibit some of my Caribbean pictures this month but my new computer had a serious hard drive malfunction which changed everything. I thought the beautiful beaches and palm trees would generate interest since it is still very much winter here in Michigan. Then one evening as I was going through some prior material on my laptop I came across a selection of images that I shot in Chicago. I am extremely biased toward black and white and Chicago with it's skyscrapers and unique architecture truly lends itself to fine art photography.
Over the years, I have travelled to many of the big cities in our country but Chicago is right at the top as one of my favorites. It is ultra clean, very safe and if you stay in a northwest suburb and commute by Metra train, it is quite affordable. The city offers a wealth of photo material, great restaurants and superb night life. If it rains you can always go to the aquarium, one of the museums or the top of the John Hancock building. Personally; if the weather is not wild I enjoy just walking the streets with my camera at the ready.
I hope you enjoy the selection of images I have chosen and promise to give the Caribbean group another chance in the near future. Thanks for looking in on VIEWFINDER.
