The American Automobile

August has always been a big month for car shows around the country but in the Detroit area it is the best of the best. Next weekend the Detroit Dream Cruise brings hundreds of thousands of car lovers and spectators to Woodward Avenue to relive an era when the American car was king.  The days of
muscle cars with fender skirts and vintage cars with rumble seats and running boards will all be there.
The American automobile is probably my favorite subject matter when it comes to photography. The body styles of the past have a romance that nothing today can even come close to. The great memories of bench seats, vent windows and real spare tires are lost in the new dawn of plastic, voice activation, hybrid technology and four dollar gasoline. Today it is extremely difficult to discern from a distance whether an autombile is from Japan, Korea, Germany or the good old USA.
Anyway; I have taken a few of my car photographs and put them on this month's blog. I have accumulated so many prints, over the years, that it is hard to choose favorites; although the old Packard and Duesenberg models are close to the top of my list. I hope you enjoy looking at my pictures and will leave a comment ----- pro or con. Thanks for looking in on my "Viewfinder" blog.
