WOW! It's hard to believe that it is 2014 already. It seems like only yesterday that we were anxiously preparing for Y2K and anticipating wierd things that never occurred. Where did the time go?
This past year went by quite quickly for me, however; I was not able to do the amount of shooting with my cameras that I usually do. My wife has been very ill with an as yet undiagnosed problem so I have had to stay close to home at all times. Hopefully; we will have some answers soon, regarding her situation. I have been able to spend a fair amount of time working on my photography and even catching up on some matting and framing. I often return to images that I shot years ago and are meaningful to me because each time I work with them they seem to attain a higher level of quality. The pictures that I have included in this month's blog are that type of image. They are black and white, because that is what I grew up on and they are old because that is what I am. Anyway; this is a miscellaneous selection of prints from my past that I have brought back to life again for 2014. The gallery consists of landscapes, automobiles, an aircraft and a train. The 1938 Rolls-Royce convertible was shot in 1971 in Ferndale, Michigan. I took many images of this vehicle for a catalog but this one was my favorite. The 1929 Auburn was taken at an antique car show a number of years ago and the jet aircraft has a story all it's own. While driving a back road in western Michigan I passed a small, rural airport and noticed this decaying jet on a sign-post near the entrance. Since this plane had been a favorite of mine in the fifties; I stopped and took a few pictures. I removed the post, made a dramatic sky, and the T-33 trainer was flying again. The steam locomotive images were both taken at Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan. I hope you enjoy the pictures and thanks for looking in.
