YESTERDAY'S IMAGES

From time to time; I enjoy resurrecting some of my old film projects from the past. It gives me the opportunity to revisit special moments, plus it allows me to refine the image beyond it's original printing of thirty to forty years ago. Of course; we didn't have the digital process then so all of the included pictures were shot on either Kodak color negative film or Kodachrome slide film. The latter maintained it's color remarkably but the negative film had taken a severe color shift that could only be corrected with today's digital tools. In the past, the color retrieval was so difficult that it was just easier to make a black and white print from the negative and sometimes that was even a problem.
The images that I am including in this post were shot in the time period of 1970 to the mid 1980's and are some of my most meaningful work. I had, and still have an extremely strong interest in the Amish and Mennonite people, for they strive to cling to their way of life in an ever-changing world around them. I have traveled to a number of different locations to photograph but the prints in this post were shot in Indiana and Ontario, Canada. The little girl sitting on the store steps, eating potato chips, would be about fifty years old now. I will include more of these prints as I am able to restore them. I hope you enjoy them and might leave a brief comment at the bottom of the post. As always; thanks for looking in.
