MEMORIES ---

I just returned from another fantastic trip to Appalachia and the mountainous region of North Carolina. I love this area because it takes me back to other times and special memories. It speaks to me of a bygone era when there were fewer people and life was considerably slower than it is today. It allows me to relive a bit of the best part of my early childhood; like my grandmother's home and the cattle farms of my relatives. Although; I was born and raised six-hundred miles north I look upon Appalachia as a most favorite place and can never stay away very long.
I have chosen my pictures for this post not on composition, impact or art but totally on my feelings as I mentioned above. I took only two small rangefinder cameras and they served me well, plus they fit easily into my coat pocket when it was snowing. I always took three fully charged batteries with me for each camera and they never let me down. I would like to offer a bit of information, regarding SD cards, that I learned on this trip. Prior to heading south I purchased a new 32 GB SD card that was labelled 4K. As you are aware; 4K is ultra high definition and in a standard camera I found that it tended to create an abnormally high amount of noise. It is probably awesome for 4K video. Anyway; I hope you enjoy the images and will leave a comment ( pro or con ) at the bottom of the post. Once again; thanks for looking in.
